Saturday: Re-examining our palpation techniques & Pain! The other 4 letter word
Sunday: Sensory Approach to Manual Therapy Back & Neck
Re-Examining our Palpitation Skills Oct. 19 2024 9:00am - 1:00pm
In this 4-hour class attendees will re-evaluate their palpitation skills and adapt them to reflect what current research is telling us about pressure, speed of movement and directional strokes. Many therapists learn the basic massage strokes in school and though they attend many courses with different assessments, techniques and research, rarely are we asked to look at our most basic of tools, or touch and palpitation.
Pain! Ther Other 4 Letter Word Oct. 19 2024 2:30pm - 6:30pm
This 4-hour course is designed to help therapists and the public gain a better understanding into our relationship to pain. Why do we try to avoid pain when time and time again it has been shown to be a beneficial and positive experience that is solely designed to protect us from harm. This 4 letter word has the potential to derail our daily lives but by gaining a clearer understanding of the mechanisms and behaviors around pain we can modify our experiences to incorporate pain and begin to reduce it.
